This work presents a carefully curated selection from the writings of the ???? ????? ??? ????? ???????? (leading authorities of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah), who have expounded upon the reality of time (al-waqt), discipline, productivity, and the preservation of one’s life through righteous action. It does not belong to the genre of modern productivity literature; rather, it is rooted in the foundational sources of Islam, from which the authentic conception of time management—fiqh al-waqt—is derived, in accordance with the Qur’an and the Sunnah, as understood by the Salaf al-?ali? (the best generation).
Within the creed and methodology of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama‘ah, time is regarded as one of the greatest blessings bestowed by Allah ? upon His servants. It is not subject to renewal, nor can it be reclaimed once it has passed; rather, it diminishes continuously, bearing witness either for or against the ???????. Thus, time is not viewed merely as a worldly resource, but as a divine trust (amanah) for which every individual will be held accountable before Allah ?.
Allah ? magnifies the ??? of time by swearing an oath by it in His Book:
“By time, indeed mankind is in loss…”
(Surat al-‘A?r, 103:1–2)
