Neandharthal Becomes Human

In a lost world where the rain forests of America washed into seas of calm and glaciers pressed upon the earth like hands, where mammoths trundled across crystalline plains, another human thrived. Not so much like us, but not that different either.
They had heavy brow ridges, strong limbs, broad and strange faces. For more than 300,000 years, Neanderthals thrived in the punishing terrains of Ice Age Europe and western Asia, outliving species more robust and specialized. And then—just as suddenly as they arrived—they disappeared.
Or so we thought.
What if I told you that they never really disappeared? That their stories, their ideas, even fragments of their DNA still live on in you and me? For centuries, Neanderthals were cast as dimwitted cavemen—a crude evolutionary cousin to be pitied or mocked.
